SHE LOVES ME!

Ok, so I know in my last post I said I was a Valentine Scrooge but the day is here and you can't help but feel a little nostalgic right? Regardless of the fact that it's a commercialized day it's ALWAYS nice to know that you have people who love you. That's the whole point of this *holiday* right? So last night I went to CVS and bought my husband a card and a small something for the kids. It was the right thing to do. I wanted them to know I love them. I don't have to get caught up in the commercialization of it.

So today I was having a pretty glum day. I was working out in the freezing cold. My back was killing me and all I wanted to do was come home and crawl into bed. I work late on Thursday's so it was an even longer day.

While I was at work a delivery truck pulled up and the driver pulled out the most beautiful flowers for a lucky recipient inside the building. The back of the truck was just loaded with some of the most beautiful arrangements I have ever seen. I couldn't help but think how fortunate the recipients of all those flowers were to know that someone loved them and how absolutely beautiful those flowers were. I still can't justify the cost of them but they were beautiful. So being cold and miserable it was a sight that brightened my day. It made me think that it can't be that bad of a *holiday* when it's about expressing love. Maybe it was the cold that got to me or the tired aching back but it made my Valentine Grinch heart grow just a tad.

Enter tonight. I was busy with homework with Brycen and in walked Faith with this:

A Valentine. Made by her. Just for me. Paper curled around a pencil and glued to paper to show me how much she loves me. Daddy and Brenden got one too, but different. The Yellow is the sun, the white the clouds, the small blue the sky, the jumble in the middle are my flowers and the long blue one is the wind! I couldn't help but think that I am so much luckier than the recipients of those delivery flowers. Not only do I get a bouquet of flowers....mine will never die and they were made with tiny hands full of never ending love. It just doesn't get much better than that folks!!!

Then hidden behind her back is this (I had seen this prior today but the pride on her face tonight was what got me!)

Ok, she made my day. I love their artwork. I save it all. I take pictures of things that are too big to save in a folder. I will cherish this one forever. My Valentine Grinch heart just broke the frame. I love this girl....and she loves me. Love that!

And as promised Brycen's box. Sorry the pictures came out blurry. This was one of the best ones. He didn't win. She (the girl he tries so hard to beat) won this year. He said it was so good that even he voted for hers! Ok, the kid is a WINNER in my book. How sweet is he? Sweeter than any chocolate you got today!!!!

So that's our Valentines Day in a nutshell. I hope you and yours had a wonderful day. I am sure babies will be made all over the world tonight! ;)

Happy Valentines Day (gasp...I said it! :) )

Michelle, I love your journaling and your blog is such an extention of that. I hope you print it out from time to time even if it is to put in a 3 ring binder. You and your kids and even Ray will appreciate reading it years from now when the happy memories arent as clear or when there are just to darn many memories to remember.
