Anyhow, I made him the cake. It's yellow cake with chocolate frosting with chocolate wafer cookies, steam rolled by my rolling pin and added for the "dirt" effect. Tracey bought him a really cool construction set (that I picked up for her) and I borrowed the guys and the street detour thingy's from it to make his cake.
He LOVED it. He was so cute. Well he's always cute but he was just 3 yr old goodness cute! I love 3 yr olds. It's my favorite age ever. I would have a 3 yr old forever if I could! I walked in with the cake and his eyes got enormous. He was instantly my best friend! Seriously. He wanted me to do everything with him! :) I put it on the counter and went to do something and all I could hear him saying is "I need my stool" "Auntie, Mom where my stool?" Well he found that stool and pulled it right up to the counter and just stared at that thing forever. He never touched it and he never asked for the trucks. He was sooooo good and just in love with his cake.
He had to wait a really long time for his party. We ate lunch and visited and if you know my sister.....nothing is ever on time! ;) But he got his cake....he didn't eat it but he did ask for those trucks the second he was done opening all his other trucks he got for his birthday. I read stories to him and played truck with him. We built a huge bridge with the new blocks the kids and I gave him and just had fun!
I love this kid to pieces. He is one of our miracle babies and he is our last baby. He is 3 and while I am beyond excited to have a 3 year old in the family again I am sad because he's growing too fast and soon he will be 4 :( Four is the most miserable age there is :(. So I will spend this year cherishing every moment with him so that when he does turn 4 I can remember how good 3 was!!!
Happy Belated Birthday Ethan.
Auntie LOVES you SO MUCH! :)
