HAPPY EASTER!

I don't know about you but I am pooped. Exhausted. It was one of those weekends that just didn't seem to end. It was busy around here. The boys had their Destination Imagination tournament yesterday. We don't know how they faired yet. The last challenge the boys had was at 3:15 and the judging didn't start until after 6:00 so they left early.

Faith and I stayed home and had a girls craft day! I love crafts. I love anything that has to do with being creative and working with my hands. We made these beautiful butterflies that you see to the left with watercolor pencils and coffee filter. I could have honestly sat there and made them all day. We loved coloring with the pencils and then watching them transform once you brush the water over them. It's just so mesmerizing. After the butterflies we moved on to the cute little rabbits below. That was a long project but we had fun. It's a toilet paper roll and it's covered in cotton balls. Too fun! I have many crafting sites that I turn to for easy kid projects. You can find these at Kaboose. The pop-ups are annoying but they have some good stuff. Faith made the girl bunny, I made the boy.

When the boys got home we colored eggs. Then finally it was bedtime! They woke us up at 7:30 to see what they got in their baskets from the Easter Bunny. I seriously have issues with this Easter Bunny thing right up until the moment they find their baskets. Then I relish in it. The joy on their faces really takes away the pain of telling them that a abnormally sized rabbit with a funky face comes into our home at night and leaves them stuff. Faith is convinced it's a person now so it makes it that much easier. She just doesn't think it's us! ;)

Then it was all about the dress. Faith promised me a photo shoot with her new dress and with curly hair. I love her hair curly. I bought her Conair Hot Sticks for her hair. She loved her curly hair until the night I let her sleep in them and when she awoke the next morning to find tight curls it was all over. I did convince her that she did NOT look like a "lion" and she went to school that way. She hasn't let me curl them again until today. It lasted only a short while and we didn't get the curl I was hoping for because her hair never dried all the way but you can see the few pictures that she let me take. She didn't really live up to her promise. She got moody instantly and the "photo shoot" was over before it started. :(

Then came the cousins. We had a great Easter Egg hunt and a lunch cooked on the grille by Ray of burgers and hot dogs. It was so nice to not have a big meal to clean up after. Although, I do miss ham, potatoes and veggies. I still can't eat well so that would have just made me miserable to cook a huge meal and not eat it. It was better this way.

So that's it. Our weekend in a nutshell. The photos follow.

Enjoy!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday.

Love,
Michelle, Ray and Family
